I heard you don't like (political) signs!

Hey all,

I figured with the previous post about sign clutter in Vancouver, you might appreciate to see the guidelines surrounding political signs for Clark County and the cities within!

Fun fact: Candidates can take a voluntary pledge to try and keep Vancouver clutter-free, you can find Vancouver's on page 13.

Also because I'm a fairly big believer in sharing knowledge, especially when it comes to politics, here's a few links and general "gotchas":

PDC = In charge of City/County/State level elections

FEC = In charge of House/Senate/Presidential elections

*In other words, federal elections are beholden to FEC laws/regulations, not PDC regulations

PDC Political Disclosure Data AKA "Who's bribing donating to them?"

PDC Enforcement Cases AKA "Who's breaking the rules?"

FEC Data Same as the above, but at the federal level.

Huge disclaimer: This isn't a subtle post calling out any specific candidate/campaign; coming off the campaign trail myself, I've noticed the average person is woefully unaware of how politics run.

Note: If you think I've gotten something wrong or have your own "fun fact", let me know! I'm not shy about getting things wrong, we're human.

I'm Troy Rasband (D), running for WA-03, and I'm holding an open Q&A at the Camas Library this Wednesday

Hi r/Camas

I'm a progressive Democrat running for Congress in WA-03, and I'm holding an open Q&A at the Camas Library this Wednesday, July 1, from 5:45–6:45 PM.

No script and no screening, please feel free to show up and ask whatever is on your mind. I'd rather earn your vote across a table than in a mailer, so I'm looking forward to hearing your perspective.

RSVP if you can, so we can plan for turnout: https://www.troyrasband.com/q-a-with-troy

Hope to see you there.

— Troy

P.S. If Wednesday doesn't work, I'll be over in Stevenson the next day (July 2, 6:45-7:30) at the Stevenson Community Library.

Postmaster General Confirms Plan to Hold Back Mail Ballots Under Proposed Rule

Link to the article here.

Quote from the article:

>He was asked by Senator Gary Peters of Michigan, the committee’s top Democrat: “If a state refuses to turn their absentee voter list over to the federal government, will the Postal Service still mail their ballots under this proposal rule?”

>“Under our proposed regulation, no,” Mr. Steiner responded.

I'm in the middle of creating a statement about this for my campaign, but thought it prudent to post the story here as well. I'm contacting local groups about whether or not there are any planned actions surrounding this.

Note: There is a comment period for the proposed rule change, it ends July 2nd. If I have a second, I'll throw a link to that as well in the comments.
