Hello, recently my car was hit by a distracted driver while i sat at a red light. Their insurance has deemed my car a total loss. They need the title of my vehicle before they can give me the settlement amount. I paid the car off last year but never got the title updated to have the lien information removed from the title. I have paper work from the bank saying the lien has been satisfied and paid off. Do i need to get the title updated to remove the lien before sending it to the insurance people?
