It’s not Matilda or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I have a memory of a Roald Dahl story about a boy sneaking down in the night to a giant chocolate cake on the kitchen table. He starts off by taking a tiny slither, but gets carried away and ends up eating most of it.

I can see the Quentin Blake illustration, but I can’t find it online, all that comes up is Matilda. My family is convinced I’m wrong, but I remember reading it as a kid. It might be a short story, or a story within a story, I’m not sure.

Have I imagined it?? Please let me know if you know what I’m talking about 🙏
