Update to Stiffel Model 2006 question

Against all advice, I decided to use lacquer thinner to clean up the exterior of my lamp. I scrubbed it with grade 1 and 0000 steel wool. I think it actually turned out pretty good considering I have never dealt with lacquered metals before.

These are the “after” pics (please refer to my previous post for the before pics). The base didn’t improve as much as I’d hoped but it won’t be noticeable with where I plan to put it.

I welcome all thoughts, concerns, and advice on next steps (if any).

Stiffel model 2006 - surface restoration

I thrifted this floor lamp for $10. The surface of it is pretty scratched up and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to it myself to make it look better? I would say I’m a mid-level DIYer but mainly work with wood projects. Any ideas welcome! (I’m also rewiring it and already bought the shade for it.) Thanks!

I’ve always loved these photos of my grandparents. The Navy photo was taken during the Korean War. The others look to be circa 1940’s - 1960’s.
