The 4th flush of Ochras has turned funky. I usually harvest some huge, dense, hard blobs from the other three identical monotubs, but this one surprised me because it's about 6cm, huge, and not dense at all. I was also surprised that the fruits have fibrous hyphae or mycelium growing despite good ventilation. It also seems to be pinning fast, even though it's the 4th flush.
It's probably due to the variety (ochras), but in just two days it has already colonized extensively. The bubbles that form when I shake it daily remain suspended for hours, giving the mycelium more oxygen. I've also noticed that no clumps form; the mycelium stays separated in small portions, allowing it to feed on the suspended LME at more points.Watching the liquid remain static after the mixer stops is mesmerizing. I like the result.
Can someone help me choose the best-made line from the Pressure Advance test? I think the third one is better than the rest.
