How much open time is actually normal for doctors these days?

Curious how other offices are dealing with this lately, obviously everybody wants a full schedule, but realistically there are always cancellations, no-shows, holes in the schedule, patients moving appointments around, etc At what point does it start becoming a real problem for you? If a doctor has an hour or two open during the day, is that pretty normal now, or does that already feel unacceptable?

Anybody else getting random calls/emails from DSOs wanting to buy your practice lately?

Feels like every couple weeks someone reaches out asking if I’m “thinking about an exit”,

just curious how many people here are actually getting approached, and if anyone seriously considered selling

Anybody have good strategies for reducing no-shows

Right now we send msg 1 week and 1 day before the appointment, it helps a bit but we still get random last minute no-shows sometimes, curious what other clinics are doing? would love to hear what’s actually working for people

Been thinking about finally putting some money into advertising but honestly no clue where to spend it anymore.

online ads?
local newspaper?
coupon mailers?
little community magazines?
billboards?

every ad company says THEIR thing is the one that works lol

feels like everybody wants to sell marketing to small businesses right now

I’m just trying not to burn money on stuff that looks good in reports but never actually brings real customers in

curious what you guys have actually tried

what worked surprisingly well?
what was a total waste of money?

hey all,

been on a local/server-based PMS for years, but lately thinking about moving to a cloud one.

not sure if this is a smart move or something I might regret

has anyone here actually made the switch?
how did it go for you?

curious to hear real experiences before I do anything dumb

thanks

Not sure if this is just happening where we are, but feels like keeping good front desk people is getting harder lately.

The job itself doesn’t seem that hard honestly? mostly phones, scheduling, some insurance stuff. nothing too crazy compared to clinical roles.

still feels like turnover is higher than before for some reason

are other offices seeing this too or just us?

anything that helped you keep someone longer at the front desk?
