I like overdesign in superhero suits

I'm gonna clarify this is mostly about the MCU, but also not really because I mention the Amazing Spider-Man.

I don't get why people hate lines. I don't care if they're not comic accurate or if they have no reason to be there, I fucking love lines. I love them. They look great, I don't get everybody shitting on them.

Spider-Man Homecoming. That suit is amazing, I think it's one of the best Spider-Man suits ever, obviously the Brand New Day suit is better, I'm not dense. The Amazing Spider-Man suit? Chef's kiss, please could I have some more? Iron-Spider in the MCU? Way too shiny, but if it wasn't so disgustingly shiny I'd love it.

And this isn't just about Spider-Man, I like the Captain America suit from Age of Ultron, I dunno if that counts as overdesigned though I've heard mixed responses on that. I liked the Taskmaster design. I also liked the Fant4stic designs.

And yes, I'm a fucking larper, I've read one random Spider-Man comic I got from my uncle years ago, and yes, the comic designs are great, but sometimes they just wouldn't look good in live action. Maybe that's a bad take, and a take spewed everywhere, but I don't care I think it's valid and lines are cool.

I just think overall, the overdesigned costumes are still cool. I'll die on this hill.

God wrote the scriptures, yet there are contradictions in the Bible

So I haven't used this sub before, and I wanted to rant about this, idk if this is the place to drop a shitty essay so if it's not, just let me know and I'll take it down.

Anyhoo, hi. I had this fresh in my mind because I heard the verse 2 Timothy 3:16 that says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." I'm assuming this just means that the scriptures are written by God through man, which in general is something I do hear a lot.

But my question is what this means about the contradictions in the Bible, because if an unchanging God who's the same yesterday as he is today and forever and whatnot had a hand in the scriptures, why the hell would He allow these contradictions?

My immediate thought was that this is like if I invented a new power tool, let's call it the Hamwrenchscrewdrill (trademark pending). This a brand new unique tool and I'm the only one who knows how to use it, but I have these 12 friends that I want to teach how to use my Hamwrenchscrewdrill (trademark pending), and then in turn they'll teach others how to use it. But instead of giving them the proper instructions on how to use it, I just tell them "Oh yeah this is how you turn it on. No wait, sorry, fuck, THIS is how you turn it on," and then they just fucking explode.

Cuz to my knowledge, the Bible, (according to an ai overview, I'm not doing proper research fuck you) is "to reveal God's character, communicate His plan to rescue humanity through Jesus Christ, and guide people in how to live." So if He truly did have a hand in these scriptures as it says, why would He allow these contradictions in His instruction manual?

The only excuse I can maybe come up with is that maybe it's to test us? Like to have us interpret what's right and what's wrong in the Bible? But that just makes it worse.

Again, if I'm teaching my 12 friends how to use the Hamwrenchscrewdrill (trademark pending), but PURPOSELY tell them how to use this dangerous powertool wrong because I want them to interpret what I actually mean, that just sounds like something a lunatic would do.

Another thing I hear just about the contradictions in general is that they exist because it was written by a bunch of different people and there's translation errors, but again if God breathed these scriptures this is just His fault. I feel like an all powerful narcissist of all people would want to make sure His biography is accurate, right? And even with translation errors, that's still God's fault because He made all the different languages in the Tower of Babel story, and even excluding that, he is an all powerful, all knowing God, he couldn't use maybe easy to translate phrases, or just in general I dunno, do some divine intervening to make sure people can easily follow and understand his teachings in the book made so people can understand his teachings?

At best, this just says God is an incompetent dumbass. At worst, this says he purposely allowed these contradictions for whatever nefarious purpose.

Or, y'know, just proves God does the not real.

Anyhoo, thank you for your time, and sorry that you'll never get it back.

Peace.

Brave take on mercurial (or not, I havent read other reviews)

This might be controversial or the coldest take ever, but ngl I didnt like the album that much.

I haven't been on Reddit in a while (should've kept it that way) but I really felt like writing a long ass post about something and this felt fitting, but anyhoo.

So Imma continue where I left off above, ik the suspense of that cliffhanger left you all blueballed eagerly awaiting my words of wisdom.

So I'll start wit what I liked, cuz Im tryna be more positive yk.

While I'm Gone is the best song of the album, not the best song he's made in the Chandol vibe (I'm counting Burnout) that has to be Petrichor, Change, or Pitfalls, and if you disagree I probably cant say anything too harsh on this subreddit, I dont use it often, but imagine the foulest threat/insult you can think of and pretend I said that. While I'm Gone is a masterpiece though, I love more acoustic stuff sorta so the quiet emotional intro had me on the edge, and then the buildup into the rest of the song had me eargasming fr. Other songs I really liked were Doubt and Clothbound. Also the album cover is fucking gorgeous, I don't know how to describe the feeling it invokes in me. I'm not gonna sit here and act like it's high art, but I'm a reddit simpleton and I thought it was pretty. I feel the same way about the cover of Melatonin Dreams. Even though I'm talking about Chandol. Just thought that was worth note.

Anyhoo, let's just get into the negatives now, I'll let Debbie do her shit.

So, first I didn't like 2002. It felt annoying. Sometimes I feel like the songs progressed funny, and they were very similar to Affection- Shit, I'm bringing up Boywithuke again- where it was like a verse and a chorus, then just a big instrumental, and I will say, I fuck with thst heavy, but not when it's all the time. Lakeview (tbf idk if thats supposed to be like an interlude but at the beginning? Idk I wont count it if yall think I shouldnt) Breakfast in bed felt that way, Clothbound (I might look like a hypocrite here, ik, but again, I fuck wit that, but like js not when its so many of the songs) and more, I'm too lazy to really relisten to the album rn, most of what Ive listened to in depth is if its While I'm Gone or it came up on my playlist. Also, idk if people shared this sentiment, but I do feel like all the songs felt very similar, like I can't tell the difference sometimes, especially when most of them follow the formula of being one thing and then like breaking out in a loud finale. Like I've been sitting here thinking of the songs in my head, and I genuinely mix them up on accident, like in the middle of a verse, and if I didn't know for sure I wouldn't have batted an eye. I will say, there are exceptions. 2002, Avalon, and Breakfast in bed sounded different from the others, though Breakfast in bed is very similar in formula and structure to the rest. Also ik me talking about hating 2002 when I mention having an issue with songs sounding the same and 2002 being the most unique sounding. So I'll say I think 2002 should be there, I just didn't like it that much.

Now, I'm not gonna act like I hated the album. Overall, did I enjoy it? Yes, it was a good listening experience, and I still like most of the songs (Not 2002, fuck 2002) I just kinda have to be in the mood (Head out of the gutter, people) to enjoy some of them, which I think is the ultimate complaint and the only one that matters. I just don't think I like Charley's new style. I preferred the style of Boywithuke songs in the sense I could just listen to them casually, Chandol songs I have to want to listen to. And yk that's fine, everyone is gonna have differing tastes, cuz art is subjective and shit. Like ik that the whole song structure thing is probably just the style now, and I'm just not a big fan of it, but I still think the music is objectively pretty damn good, just not really what I can listen to on a daily basis.

for the essay, I'm sure a lot of you will say stuff like "I'm not reading allat" and yeah, ik, I'm violating your brain with a reading assignment during summer, but I'm a sheltered homeschooled boy and my parents won't allow me the privilege of a youtube channel, so I word vomit my thoughts to you sometimes wonderful most of the time just plain weird redditors.

Anyway yeah, those are my messy thoughts on Mercurial, whether this is a hot or cold take, who cares, I'm a neanderthal on reddit, if you actually listen to the things I say you're already beyond help, my friend.

Toodles.

The new show is peak BUTTTTTTTTTT

>!The first episode was ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!<

>!So I loved this show, the cast is fucking stacked, I was really hyped that we don't know who the imposters are, we get extra lore for the universe (MatPat eat your heart out), the characters were great- except for you Cyan, fuck you. !<

>!Overall, I liked the show, I thought it was peak.!<

>!Except for the damn pilot. Lemme explain.!<

>!I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought this, but the pilot is EXCLUSIVELY exposition. Like 90% of the episode is "Ok here's the cast and the ship" and then the other 10% is "Oh look a crisis." Like it's barely an episode. !<

>!Other than that though, I loved the show. The gore pleasantly surprised me, the scene where the hippie gets everybody high on LSD and they start stripping and drawing their dead comrade shirtless was truly beautiful. !<

>!Anyway, the show was fucking dope.!<

>!Peace.!<

>!Oh and I prolly didnt need to spoiler tag everything but I did it anyway just in case!<
