Credit Karma Refuses to verify identity manually even when their AI miteks keeps rejecting the ID on different mobile browers.
Hi there I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, but I recently changed my phone number and wanted to log into my credit karama account to check my score, only to find that it wouldn't let me in until I changed my phone number for 2-FA which I thought wouldn't be an issue- but upon trying to change my number it told me to contact support, so I did and when I did they sent me links to their AI Identity verification website called Miteks, the issue was that every single time I'd scan my ID, it did not appear blurry to me, and it was scanned in good lighting on a dark background- I did this three times in Safari, and then a fourth time in Chrome on my IPhone since the agent recommended to change browsers, every single time the pictures were rejected by the AI, my face was not. The support agent kept telling me to retry and said the pictures were "blurry" when I could see they were not as I was taking them through the mitek link he'd sent me. I then sent him my ID directly in the chat and he said yes "I know it is you trying to log in" and I said ok "then let me in?" and he said that he "couldn't till I verified with Mitek" so Credit Karma can know you're the owner of the account but refuse to offer you any help if their AI fails?! I asked to speak to a supervisor and he refused as well. I then told him that I wanted to delete my account if they were going to use a faulty AI system to scan people's identity documents. Even Ontado is easier to use and verifies identity more efficiently, I've used it in the past many times. I do not understand how a picture of me holding my ID or even a video is not good enough for the agents to fix my issue and let me change my phone number or access my account, it's inexcusable. And for anyone who wants to defend this on credit karma's end, you are looking at a lawsuit eventually because not accepting a federally legal state ID as a form of a identification to let someone even delete their account is most likely incredibly illegal. And anyone reading this who has had similar issues, I suggest that we eventually band together and file a class action lawsuit.
