Awning tube snapped from heavy rain

I have a 2006 Fleetwood Tioga SL 31w with a 20ft manual awning. Heaving rain in Miami caught us by surprise and broke the awning.

We have insurance with a $500 deductible. I'm handy and feel I install a new one if it's cheaper. With a very quick look online and they are around $1000 (eg RecPro) , but I have no clue on quality.

It was the weight of the rain that snapped the tube. Will the insurance company cover the replacement awning? I have full RV coverage with Geico if that helps.

Is it worth just buying one myself and reinstalling it?

I've removed the awning easily and sealed the holes with silicone for now.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
