My very limited understanding of contract law includes 'meeting of the minds' as a fundamental requirement for a valid, enforceable contract, yet, there are oodles of stories in the recording industry where some 19-year-old innocent signed away vast of amounts of income and all rights to every future song and recording. Why are these all valid contracts?

I received an email from the Virginia DMV suggesting that I download and use their "Virginia Mobile ID". Is there any good reason I should use this instead of just pulling out my Virginia Driver's License, other that it is "digital'? Whoop-dee-do!
