I'm a pre final year ECE undergrad, though I have always been more interested in tech and software. Recently, I had an opportunity to interview with an mnc for a software intern role (on-campus) and here is how the interview went. The interviewer started with introduce yourself and right after that asked what my branch is and then started asking questions from core ECE subjects, obviously I wasn't prepared for that and couldn't answer most of them and overall it didn't went well. Also, no technical question and nothing from my resume too has been asked (might be because of my initial fumble).

I wanted to ask that is this a common thing in interviews with mncs? Any suggestions regarding this would be really helpful.
