Looking for advice on my 3-year-old daughter's burn scar on face
My daughter is 3 years old. About a year ago, when she was 2, she suffered a second degree deep burn (that's what they told us at the hospital in France) and had a skin graft. She has recovered well overall, but the scar has remained very thick, raised and hard, and it seems to be a hypertrophic scar.
We have been using silicone products for quite some time, but unfortunately we haven't seen much improvement. The scar is still very raised and quite prominent.
I would really appreciate hearing from other parents of young children who have gone through something similar.
What treatments actually helped your child's scar? Has anyone had experience with steroid injections (such as Kenalog/triamcinolone) for a child's hypertrophic burn scar? What about laser treatment or other treatments?
I'm especially interested in hearing what worked after silicone treatment didn't make much difference, and whether the scar continued to improve naturally over the following years.
I'd be very grateful for any personal experiences, especially from parents of children who had skin grafts after burns. ❤️
