How come our generation doesn't just want to hangout for the fun of it?

Saw a thread about how millennials used to just hangout in parking lots just to hang out. It got me thinking, how come our generation won't do similar things?

Maybe it's just my friends or people around me, in a big city too, but how come everything has to be planned a week in advance with multiple incentives? I am always trying to plan stuff and others will literally tell me thing A, B C etc needs to happen or else they won't come. As if they are a celebrity and need something special to happen for them to leave their bedroom.

Are we just not a fun generation? Is tech and video games just too consuming?

Yes I know everything is expensive and time can be limited.
