UK Four Nations Backyard Ultra

UK Four Nations Backyard Ultra

So, the Four Nations backyard is taking place in Northern Ireland on the 20th June. A team from England, Scotland, N.Ireland & Wales to compete against each other with a lap earning a point from their team.

Anyone on here taking part in the event, I’m struggling to find any further information online whatsoever, nothing much from the organisers but they are winding down and this is their last event ever, but taught there would be more posted from team members and representatives.

How do you train for a Backyard Ultra?

I’m probably running a BYU in November; I’ve run a few 50 millers and have done well with training and during the race.

But I’m really curious how others train for a BYU specifically. I’d like to get to around 15 laps or 100 km; but I’m starting to doubt how should I plan my training for the race.

Any tips welcomed!

Hiya folks, a few weeks ago I took part in a Backyard that had 7,000m of elevation in the 36hours of running, also another backyard in my country that styles itself as the toughest backyard in the world (because it’s got awful underfoot conditions).

Is there any mentionable backyards any of you have taken part in or heard of that contain any unique elements, such as big elevation or strange terrain. also any resources that detail courses beyond the limited info on the bigs website.
