Update from guy asking for recs on Friday for Mt. Rainier

Hey ya’ll, it was totally worth it to go up on Sunday. Muir approach was packed with people getting after it. Real good vibes, bluebird once you got past Panorama and lots of fresh pow in May! Hope some of ya’ll get out there this week.

Some pics I took on the way up. If you’re any of these peeps lemme know and I can send them over if you want.

Advice/Recs for Camp Muir this Sunday

Hey ya’ll, got into the backcountry this season after moving to WA (near Seattle) and have mostly being doing solo tours up to Muir to train up resistance, technique, etc. Watching the weather this weekend it looks like there’ll be some fresh snow so was thinking of going up on Sunday. Only concerns are the fresh snow being too loose and avy risk being too high (especially with stickier, spring conditions). Studying the route it seems fine with the sole exception being the hike up to Panorama Point due to the higher angles. Any advice/recs? Does Sunday seem good with me just keeping an eye out and possibly heading back if it’s too sketch? Or should I just try to wait until Monday-Tuesday (call in sick)?

There’s also just the chance the road is closed and I can’t get in early enough lol.

Any and all advice/feedback is appreciated!
