AI is still worthless

Tried to find a hotel on a late night drive last night. The AI kept suggesting hotels over an hour away from me even though I said to find the nearest ones. When I asked if the casino next to me had a hotel it pulled up a casino many hours away with the same name. Then I said, is the Fortune casino that I am looking at the same one you just told me about, and it took a picture and said something like, “you are right I am stupid.” When I asked for hotels between my current location (approximately Lacey) and Shelton Washington it suggested some over an hour south - the opposite direction. Instead of the myriad options in Olympia.

So much garbage. Can’t wait to be able to use a decent AI system on these.

Worst part is the glasses have a new bug where I start talking to the AI, it types out my question then sleeps and does not respond. Then the green mic icon shows on the glasses and the glasses get stuck thinking that I am on the phone - which I am not. Only way I have found to disconnect the green mic is to turn Bluetooth off on my phone and then back on. I think the bug might be triggered by tapping the glasses to start AI since it seems to happen when I first want to use it and I don’t have the neural band connected yet.

Friend Finder Application for iOS - uses facial recognition to help you remember your friend's names

Demo with someone famous.

GitHub - worldjoe/FriendFinder: An iOS companion application for the Meta Display Glasses to remind you of your friend's names and information · GitHub

I wrote this to help me remember my friend's names. You have to manually add all the friends you want to remember and select photos of them. The app will help you crop them and will build a facial recognition dataset for each friend. Then when you want to remember who people are, like at a party, launch the application on your phone. Once connected to your Meta Display Glasses you will see a UI on your glasses. The UI has a Capture button that you click (with your neural band) that starts the livestreaming to the companion phone app. Then the UI will show you the Most recent matched friend's Name. Their nickname and any info you typed into the app, like hobbies or kids' names. It also has some debugging information currently displayed like whether any faces were detected and whether they were matched against your dataset.

Above is what it looks like on your glasses. At this point I had only entered my kids who were around for me to test on. Since I didn't want to upload an image of my child, I added someone famous for you to get an idea of how it works.

I just added a Facebook helper tool that grabs 5 images from all your Facebook friends to help jump start your database.

Some todos:
Android? I can't wait to buy a new phone, Apple's walled garden seriously limits the Meta Display Glasses abilities (like not being able to have a Messaging app for text messages and not being able to respond to group messages).

I'd put this on the app store for all of you, but that would cost me 99$ for an Apple Developer license. And I'm unsure if the model training data is redistributable.
