I’ve been writing descriptions for a post I plan to make, detailing the feral descendants of the Qu-created Parasites, that each partnered with a Host species.
Since the name ”Symbiotes” is taken by the singular sapient species, the book elects to call all the other species of mutualistic posthumans by the name of ‘Parasites’, with quotation marks. This makes sense because they are descended from the original Parasite species, but its counterintuitive because they do not parasitize Hosts.
I’ve thought of calling all of these species Symbionts, but I’m not sure if that’s too close to Symbiotes. While typing this, I also thought of the name Mutualists, which might also work.
Feel free to tell me which name you prefer, or if you have any other suggestions!
