Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a fix. I’ve lived in Ranchi my whole life—did my schooling here from Prep to 12th. I’m currently in a gap year for entrance prep.

I have cleared jee mains with decent score to get a decent college. I need a Local Residential Certificate for my counseling/exams, but my family doesn't own land here, so we don't have a Khatiyan. However, my mother has been a Jharkhand State Government employee since 2011.

Has anyone successfully made a certificate based on their parent's government service or educational records? Every agent I talk to keeps asking for land papers. Is there a specific way to apply on Jharsewa or a particular office in Ranchi where they understand this category?

Any suggestions would be appreciated 👍
