An Arbitrary Feeling

I enjoyed my time with Farever. Maxed a warrior, leveled the other classes to 10 before I got a lil bored. But im mostly giving it a break to wait for more to be finished- but I've been left with an impression...

DAE feel like alot of the build decisions you can make are like... completely arbitrary? Even when I dont have any points allocatted, Im having 0 problems killing multiple enemies above my level.

And while we're on the subject, the different classes, different though they may be, also feel like an arbitrary choice. No one class really seems to have a specific role in the context of a party. You could kill a hard mode bee queen with 4 mages just as well as a more balanced party- so are you really just picking your vibe when you pick your class?

Its like I said, I really enjoyed it as something I could turn my brain off with, but I cant escape the feeling that the gameplay loop is just a slow dopamine drip, and Im just cycling cooldowns regardless of which class Im using.

Anyone else have this experience?

Abyss Odyssey features surprisingly accurate South American Folklore

Abyss Odyssey is a videogame that is set in Chile in 1890. The objective is to defeat a sleeping warlock at the bottom of an abyss. You fight the creatures of his dreams on the way.

Because the warlock grew up on the Chiloe archipelago, his dreams are full of Chiloe folklore such as the Camahueto, the Voladora, and la Pincoya.

The Camahueto is a bull that has only one horn. it sleeps in rivers as it grows and stampedes towards the ocean, making rivers in its wake. it could only be stopped by a witch or warlock with a lasso made of kelp, who would lasso it and lead it to the water.

The Voladora is a messenger for the chiloe witches and warlocks. she can transform into a bird through dark and mysterious means, giving up her humanity in the process. it is said that the voladora must vomit up her entrails to accomplish this transformation.

I feel like south american folklore doesnt get as much attention as it should. If you are interested in Chiloe Folklore, this video discusses it at length.
