Buying Guns at 18 in CO
Okay so im 18 and would like to purchase a handgun for general safety and self defense. The only issue is I live in Colorado. For context, on my 18th birthday my friend wanted to gift me a Glock. I thought "Wow this is great! I dont have to buy one anymore!" but after looking at some of the laws im left stuck. My friend is a dual resident of both Colorado and Wyoming. He told me that if I just come up to Wyoming he would just give it to me there as it would be considered a "Private Sale/Gift". I dont actually know if this is legal or would work since the laws are very backwards. Any input on what I should do or how I could make it work would be very helpful! (Also hypothetically, if I just crossed state lines and didnt ship it to an FFL that would be fine, no? since neither state has any registering laws and technically im allowed to possess a handgun in my state)
