science science (spoilers)

is it just me, or was it really dumbed down or was this the trend back then to argue about science as oppose to believe? I always had trouble with it. She always talks about it like a religion. whatever weird happens it doesn't contradict science. what is the problem? Use your science and figure it out. And by the way Mulder also always sad it like this but in the opposite way. I thought "why is it so bad if Scully were to solve one of your little mysteries using scientific approach?"

Poll. Huge spoiler though.

Who thinks the father knew it wasn't Samantha and made Fox believe he lost his sister twice? Because of how he reacted and that now we know he participated.

Mr. Scully!

Scully is a hacker.

DO you remember when we said "internet" and had to type in command to connect? I don't. 😁

Time for another cameo appreciation!

Paul Ben-Victor! Another case of unrecognizable character. Too bad later they started using him as a thug more often.

all came to this moment

Don't you love it when more than one season comes to a detrimental moment? We're just strolling through this episodes, aliens here aliens there, ooh conspiracy, ooh monsters, and then bam and this character suddenly laying down the whole premised the bases for all seasons forward. I know they didn't plan to use him, but who's to say writing a show is not a creative adjustable process? And he kind of didn't tell anything almost, but what he told perfectly lines up with the further development. And I didn't notice this significance before.

Another discussion from a concussion

Is it just me or was Duane Barry a bit rushed? I understand Gillian was pregnant. But some things here are so weird. He's looking through the window with such tight frames. So what he broke the glass? She always has her gun there on the counter. I always see him trying to squeeze there like Tooms. Let's say you can break the frame, but you would need to hit it with a hammer a few times. And how on Earth was he lying in hospital without restrain? I assume, I'm not the first asking.

Raymond J. Barry can play ANYONE

Raymond J. Barry can play ANYONE

When I first saw him in Testified the first thought popped into my mind "SENATOR! Brandenburg Concerto number 2". Some actors has such a huge range of characters it's so bizarre sometimes seeing them on the same screen. Are there any fans of Raymond J. Barry here?

Spotted a production goof

Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey. Oh, Gillian.

(tried cutting it to avoid spoilers. hope i did it)

the funny thing is the screw gave away a little bit to the wrong direction. probably because it was prepared or even rehearsed and when they put it back they didn't crew all the way for efficiency.

Who stop camping after this episode? 😊

this is why you have to watch a show like this through at least two times to appreciate phrases like this.

Roadtrip

Didn't you always have a feeling that they should have done one more extra feature film? The name would have been "Roadtrip". Because of just how much time they spent on the road. And we see only the glimpse of it sometimes. And they clearly enjoy it. And because of how much influence the theme contributes to the unique X-files vibe. So, what do you think, is there any significance to this theme in the story and should have they make a feature or a special episode about that?

The Jersey Devil - wasn't read correctly.

Hello. Recently I started rewatching X-files (probably for the 100th time). Every time you watch something fully dedicated you pay attention to more details. I remember that I tried rewatching it last time 3 years ago it didn't stick because by that time I watched it so many times I couldn't even focus. I knew every phrase. So I give it more time. Now, I'm planning to shoot my diy short film and decided to refresh my memory on those long crane tracking scenes and steadycam tracking scenes. And because of that I pay even more attention that I should.

When I reached The Jersey Devil I learned that there was a huge discourse about this prop and everyone trashed the show for that. Believe me I know all the moments where a crew member is seen or even the whole team. And I acknowledge there are some shitty old-school props and unrealistic physical appearance or ones that simply don't make sense in the context. But I never considered this one bad. Why? Because the script here is actually justifying everything. It's not a sketch. All we know that the homeless person found this picture in the jacket that he found. Somebody could have just sit in a bar and drawn this, put in their pocket and forgot the jacket at the bar or on a bus stop. They could have really see it and then doodle it out of boredom, or it could have been not related at all.

Now, from the moment Mulder picks it up it becomes suggestive. It completely fits the character. It's what Mulder does. He adjust everything to his narrative, HE WANTS TO BELIEVE. And sometimes he ends up being right. Sometimes he doesn't. But nowhere in the story he says something like "I have a real proof". When the detective asks him, Mulder shows it to him. I read this gesture like an answer in demonstrative form, not as a proof.
