Electricity bill issue
in my flat in jeddah, electricity meter is shared. main meter in the name of owner while he installed submeter in my flat to pay as per monthly consumptions of electricity.
the main meter supplies power to multiple consumers in the building like elevator, haris room, main water pump, building lights, one two room flat and a single room rented by the owner.
i’ve been paying since six months and owner having been paying his share.
but since last five months owner stopped paying his share of the bill.
to avoid disconnection i have paid my share and his share. Now i have paid 1500+ SAR in advance bill in good faith which is his share.
this month total bill came of amount 3850 SAR. i calculated his part as 2350 SAR and my part as 1531 SAR. As i have paid in advance bill which was 1548 SAR. now the total bill should go to the owner to clear all his previous balance but he refused to pay all of his bill and asked me to pay in full amount because it belongs to you. i was surprised to listen.
i told there is submeter and i’m responsible to pay as per my submeter consumption but he is not accepting.
i have all records of my payments and my submeter pictures month by month.
only two days have left for disconnection of electricity because of non payment
what to do at this stage. as my family is living with me and season too hot in jeddah nowadays.
owner is urging me to pay the full amount of the bill.
3850+1500=5,350 he wants to me pay which is totally unfair and unjustified
any help to resolve this issue as the time is short
and don’t know what to do in this situation.😢
