Will an engine for a manual jeep wrangler work for an automatic jeep wrangler?
So my engine recently went out and I don’t have a lot of money to spend on a brand new engine(quoted $12k) or hardly a used one, so I’ve been searching on eBay and found a used engine, same as the one currently have, with about 56k miles for about $2,900. My jeep is a automatic 2013 jeep wrangler Sahara and it currently has a 3.6L V6.
Well I talked to the seller and he said his was a 2012 manual, now I’m not sure if he was talking about his own personal jeep or the one it came from. He was talking like it would work and that he’d like to talk to my mechanic about the engine and to “be on the same page” in his words.( I am not saying anything bad about him, he was very sweet) I ended up sending the engine to my grandfather and he said he didn’t believe the deal and that he wasn’t sure if it would work because of the different transmissions.
I need a mechanics or someone who works on cars/ knows cars help because I don’t want to call my mechanic and ask what I feel may be a stupid question 😭
