People talk about the market being hot and cold. How can you tell?

DONT TELL ME WHAT A STOCK IS I ALREADY KNOW. THE TITLE IS CLICKBAIT. Alright the reason I titled this post “WTF is a stock” is because I am a total trading novice, and trying to learn this world is so hard. Every video, every piece of advice already assumes you know so many things. Words like “indicators,” “options,” and “liquidity.” It assumes you know what a stock really is, and what it’s good for.
Where is the absolute ground up dumb ass dictionary for people who have spent their life working in restaurants and landscape centers who want to learn the world of trading.
I’m want to hear someone tell me “imagine a piggy bank ….” That level of talk-to-me-like-I’m-5.

Frustrated because I’ve been bushwhacking my way through all this information and got to the point where I downloaded TradingView to learn to paper trade. Took me ten minutes just to figure out how to turn on paper trade on the iPhone. I didn’t realize you commit the act of trading by using the curser on a line on the graph. When you buy an etf on a brokerage website you fill out a form, so I was confused. Now I’m looking at this paper trade I made and I don’t know what it means, I don’t know how much fake money I have. This is all a jumble of red and green and numbers.
