The best 2 words to describe made In abyss for anyone is probably “disgustingly beautiful”

It just fits the theme of the series essentially. If you watched the series, its both disgusting and beautiful at the same time. The world building, the settings and the events just mix.

[RBOW general] “All banquets under heaven must come to an end” sounds like volume 2 is going to end pretty bad yet peak. What do yall think?

I am not yet catched up yet but I think it’s pretty slow pace right now where nothing HUGE is happening. But I believe towards the end of the novel something bad is going to happen. Yet ofc it also means it’s going to end peak.

Do you think that the average university student would want to help with a project for 1-3 weeks for free just to put it in their resume?

This question is leaning more towards the software development and computer science but other catalogies and majors can also be included.

If a uni student get offered to work for free in a project for an exchange of being credited in the project and maybe getting new connections. Would the majority of students in these fields take the chance?

Let’s also assume that the work doesn’t affect their studies.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Cuttlefish interview in Hefei, China regarding AI and it’s development within online literature.

Interview posted around July 30th in Hefei China. Cuttlefish arrived in Hefei for a Online literature conference.

Cuttlefish began praising Hefei, stating that after arriving at Hefei he noticed that Hefei held new technologies and industries. He expressed that Hefei is very beautiful, the blooming flowers the scenery.

He goes on to explain that online literature should nourish from our traditional culture and to make it blend in and be subjected to a renewal.

CF states further: If in the future, AI could create great things then the most important thing by then is that people can create based off of their own personal, individual experiences. What noticeable experience you had in your life, what differences my have have with other people. The people I connect with is not the same. My joy and interest is also different. This is what differs from me and other people, my own original experiences and my own original lifestyle. This is what AI can’t replicate and can’t write down.

If I have calculated right, this was posted around chapter 128 including privileged chapters. Cuttlefish seems to have a lot more experience in his writing journey of RBOW. Although this interview wasn’t about RBOW directly, he made some points that could be connected to RBOW. In the interview he appeared confident, and remained in a consistent tone.

Sorry about being slow but I couldn’t understand it.

[RBOW general] All active readers right now could fit in one bus.

Like we could genuinely fit in one bus together. Or throw a party and everyone could fit inside one house. Ofc excluding the Chinese fans and counting only western fans.

Crazy to think about.

[RBOW general] Cuttlefish Chinese webnovel account has been deleted.

I saw a few posts regarding this incident on Chinese social media. Few users reported that they can’t access CF account on Qidian (Chinese webnovel platform) for some reason while other authors stay available. Further information is speculative.

This happened yesterday yet the cause is unknown for now. I doubt that this will affect RBOW schedule since it usually get resolved quickly.

Edit: The problem has been resolved and CF’s account is now back.

What’s morally wrong with consuming lab grown human meat?

I will have to establish some context.

  1. The DNA that was used to make cells was swapped off someone who’s an adult, fully consented to his DNA being used as food without external interference and fully acknowledged the means of usage.

  2. The meat is safe to eat containing no possible contamination nor harmful properties.

  3. Everyone who consumed the meat is least 25+ and acknowledged its origins and that its human meat. All of the people’s intent is only to fill their stomachs and taste, with no disrespectful ideas.

  4. The motive of why the person behind this lab grown human meat company has and will always be for a good cause with no ill intent.

[RBOW general] Official Cuttlefish interview on Chinese social media, what CF said regarding RBOW and it’s development.

We’re 115 chapters deep into RBOW including all privileged chapters in total.

Here is a screenshot of the interview taken by me that was recorded and published on the Chinese social media platform Douyin around the first chapter release of RBOW. CF in this interview shared many important points and details regarding RBOW’s future plans, general settings and and author’s own thoughts and motivations regarding his project.

I will roughy go through the most important points made during the interview and present how CF responded towards the interviewers questions. I will also cut out some stuff that the up to date novel already answered.

Project background:

Cuttlefish said that the idea of RBOW has already existed back since when he was writing LOTM. The original idea of RBOW evolved actually from the first prototype of the western continent. CF mentioned that he abandoned this prototype because it really didn’t fit in the LOTM’s settings. When he was thinking about what his new project might be about, he then thought back this old idea of the western continent and figured that it might work pretty well and only need some more processing.

He also mentioned that the novel might be an old idea of the western continent, it will certainly not have any connections towards the LOTM novel. However, there will be certain Easter eggs that might refrence LOTM and COI >!like the Celestial Worthy refrence in chapter 45!< and probably more to come in the future.

Story background:

The name of the story was actually supposed to be Radiant Blade of Mountains And Seas since the story revolves around The Classic of Mountains And seas, but that name was already taken.

Ergo CF decided to replace mountain and seas with the great wilderness instead. CF also talked about divine beasts and realms etc, but the novel updated till today already explained most of it so there is no reason for me to repeat it.

MC background/setting.

CF was very reluctant on calling MC Ding SONyan, but people around him read it out loud for CF and then CF actually thought that it would actually work pretty well for the story setting since he didn’t want the MC’s name to be too “Main Character Coded”.

He mentioned that one of the MC’s motivations is to find out the secret behind his transmigration. However, that won’t be the primary focus and motive for the MC. Cuttlefish did admit that it could weaken the mystery sector of the story but he decided to go with that approach, otherwise it will resemble LOTM and COI too much. The core of this story will merge with them and he said that it won’t be interesting that way. There will be a reason why Ding Sonyan transmigrated but the main story won’t be focused on that.

He want that RBOW should be about the story of the characters and their experiences rather than the mystery. He also mentioned (might be spoiler) >!that the secret of his transmigration will already be solved around 2/3 point of the novel!< so he can highlight the main story focus.

Character development:

Cuttlefish said that the MC will have a more developed and mature mindset. The transmigrators before and much in other novels is that they’re always young, like in their early twenties down to their teens. CF want to write a more mature MC like instead of their early twenties, he want to write about an MC that is 30+, that had some type of career etc. It’s like you already have worked your entire life, and put effort into your fruits, but then you have to start all over again.

“In the beginning he might start optimistic, but then he might slowly realize that he have been working like a slave for 2 life times and it’s probably time to relax a bit and take a break.”

So basically after a life time of creation, business and career. He might want to do some research and experiments instead of just getting exponentially stronger and become some type of God. Like he might tend to explore, experiment with different techniques, improving techniques and make his own techniques. He will of course level up himself before that, but when he reaches a point where it’s pointless to go further he might settle on such stuff and even try to find out more about the transmigration.

Cuttlefish fish mentioned that the MC will ignore much drama in the jianghu. What he means is that in the jianghu there might be grudges between sects, disputes between clans but the MC won’t really involve himself in such situations. Like he just wanna chill and that’s it unless if he has friends that got involved. To also redefine that it means to be a hero/heroine itself, that there are many versions of what it means to be a hero. It basically makes good vs evil more nuanced and flatted out.

Power ceiling:

CF mentioned that the power ceiling for the MC will be lowered in RBOW even though the much higher realms is presented within the story. His idea is to minimize how much power the character has and in result produce a character more “down to earth” in that regard. It will allow character dynamics to be more human grounded and and make the human stories more powerful and rich.

“If a character cultivated to the heavens and above, becoming the ruler of all. Yet also keep loving here and loving there, doing human stuff like you ain’t the celestial treach. It will become very akward by then. The characters by then will still have a set personality, but by then it will be more about conflicts and greed.”

It’s suggesting that CF is also trying to make a room for romance since he mentioned that romantic tropes would be hard to explain if a character is a God and not down to earth.

There will be about 15 ranks, but yet we won’t use >!7-8!< of them and is up to the MC to explore. Basically it’s likely that that MC will most likely remain on the >!spirit realm.!<

Antagonists:

There will be about 2-3 main antagonists. All of the antagonists will have different goals and missions.

Author’s own thoughts:

CF thinks that only after he has written 3 volumes could he an answer of how good this work is from 1 out of 10. But he’d give the settings a solid 9 so far.

He has thought of writing a Wuxia novel for quite a while.

If he could really write out the story as he imagined, it would be one of his favorite works said by CF.

Conclusion:

This is about everything relevant from the interview, even though I cut out parts that doesn’t matter that much.

Personally I really do trust CF on this. It’s been great so far, and probably 10 times better with future volumes. I also prefer a bit of uniqueness such as this sometimes and not straight power slop.

Who knows, maybe it will be the best written media of all time after the story concludes.

(It would be nice if it’s pinned thanks)

I have heard his name mentioned quite a few times in the book but can someone explain how he is relevant to the story?

[RBOW general] Cuttlefish might have done COI ending like that is because he was too excited to write RBOW.

It’s not long from COI ending to the launch of RBOW. CF said in a Douyin interview that RBOW is one of his most favorite and passionate projects.

It’s possible that RBOW will become very peak cinema after just a few hundred chapters even if recent chapters are already pretty good.
