Need to know Vs HiPPA violation

Hello. I’m am currently a CNA in a hospital and I’m curious about what other people think as this is also a hotly debated topic where I work and nobody can give me a straight answer.
For your CNAs how far does “Need to Know” go? Most of my managers have said, if you have access to the information you’re allowed to review it (of corse with the bounds of pt care) this includes charting notes such as care plans, progress notes, PT /OT /SPT notes lab results. Taking into account that a person may read that last available note, and understanding it’s out side of their scope to speak about it to a pt. do you consider it an over step into a HIPPA violation for a CNA to read these notes. Some of my managers say no it’s fine, but some managers and other CNAs say it is a HIPPA violation.
Now wanting to protect myself and my job and bringing this to the wider knowledge of internet. I feel that the more information I have about a pt the better, not to say I need their whole medical history, but how they have been in the last 24 hours helps me provide the best possible care on an individual basis. What are your thoughts?

Hunger vs. nausea

Anyone ever been so hungry to the point of Nausea and the thought of eating makes you wanna puke, but you know eating will help you feel better, but it’s so hard to make yourself eat? Or is that just me?

Hospital merger

I just found out the hospital I work for just got bought by a much larger health system. I don’t know what to think about it or what’s going to happen. Im pretty sure my job is safe but I’m still kinda freaking out about this. Anyone who’s been through a merger or acquisition before your insight would be very much appreciated. I don’t wanna give specifics on either health system right now for privacy reasons

ill start off saying im not a professional, i am just someone who loves to have my nails done, but i am poor and going to a salon was getting to be to much. sorry if this isnt allowed, but i need help. i just started doing gel polish on myself and i am having reactions, i knew this was a possibility but its still upsetting. im currently trying some HEMA free/TSO free options to see if i still react. However i wanted to come here to ask real professionals, for advice, any tips or product recs that you have would be appreciated.
