Going to work and returning home...13hrs out of my house Mon to Fri. How do families cope being away from homes and families?

How do we cope as Capetonians? You leave home at 06h00 to prepare for 2hr traffic congestion. You office hrs are from 09h00 till 17h00 sometimes 18h00, yet you arrive 1 or 2hrs earlier depending on traffic. You leave office to prepare for another 2hr heavy traffic congestion from N1, M5, N2 and finally the worse of all Jakes Gerwel. Then you must prep the families needs, to ensure they all ready for the next 13hr gap of not seeing anyone until weeknd. What life is this? No family time just give off your time to a system? How do we cope as Capetonians?

As a Capetonian, I have to plan and manage my time more than ever before. I am sitting at home WAITING for traffic to subside and planning how to get through traffic. Questioning the theory of WHAT COULD GO WRONG? While I wait, I feel like my time is not mine anymore...having to constantly check, check, check and check. Is it just me feeling this way?
