Hi all,
I started a digital agency here 2 years ago in a Dubai freezone. We do Ads, SEO, marketing automation, software and web development.
It's not a large agency, but we have a good portfolio from clients across MENA.
The problem is that I started a branch here hoping it would be better than my home country, in terms of opportunities, but it didn't turn out to be.
This industry is extremely competitive, expensive to advertise for, easily under cut by competition and too hard to differentiate in.
I have yet to land one client from the UAE and my network is limited, which is going to take years to be build and become fruitful. It's hard to generate leads and I dont believe door knocking or cold calling would cut it.
What do you guys recommend? It's still afloat because the main branch back is still running.
I thought I'd get a business developer, but really struggled to find one. I do try to build partnerships with other agencies for refferals but that hasn't been fruitful yet too.
I thought I'd partner with a local, someone with network, someone that can open doors but could that's a whole other path.
Any recommendations?
