ISO: New PCP

Long story short, after 2.5 years of worsening hip pain, I finally went and saw a doctor. I ended up needing hip surgery due to excessive bone growth bc of hypermobility. After expressing their frustration that I had never been referred to rheumatology, ortho doc verified with me that I have Ehlers Danlos.

I have a few other health concerns—where the Ehlers Danlos diagnosis is actual really important. I moved back to my home state, and started seeing my original PCP again, who refuses to acknowledge the Ehlers Danlos, bc “only 30% of patients have it” I guess she’s at capacity./s

I reached out to the surgeon for med notes that indicate the diagnosis, and those don’t exist. They told me I have to have my PCP refer me to rheumatology. This is how well that conversation went. I asked her to ensure the conversation was part of my medical records and I am now on the hunt for a new PCP.
