What’s the QUIETEST Arcteryx shell?

I need a solid rain shell for PNW weather, but I cannot stand crinkly trash bag shells that feel terrible and make loud, crinkly noises. Arcteryx has such a huge line of shells with different variations and I am entirely lost.

Which shell offers the best rain protection while also being comfortable and quiet?

Unpopular opinion: the bat DOES matter

This is a response to the common comment on every bat post that says “the bat doesn’t matter, the swing does” and I’m here to tell you that in the world of slowpitch and our incredibly large range of bats, and our incredibly large range of ill-informed players of all skill levels, the bat matters a ton.

A new composite bat with the right weight and balance/load will absolutely help someone with a 2-cent swing get base hits more often than if they were swinging the $100 28oz endloaded alloy bat from Big 5 because they don’t know the difference.

Those of you who are well informed on bats may assume that your teammates are the same, but you’d be surprised how many people just think “a bat is a bat”. Sure, if you’re a conference USSSA player who hits nukes on command, the difference between a Genesis and a Tantrum is not going to change you much.

But helping your teammates swing the hottest tech they can for their league, in the right weight and balancing, will ABSOLUTELY help them get more hits vs just trying to fix their swing. A $100 swing can’t fix a bad bat.

I have single-handedly manufactured a team that hits better, not due to practice, but due to fitting bats to where my players are better suited.
