Need help with our new sheltie puppy!
We got a sheltie puppy who is now 9 weeks old going onto 10. We got her from a responsible breeder at 8 weeks old and we love her but all she wants to do is play play play but she doesn’t like being pet or cuddling. We tried everything to tire her out mentally and physically from kong toys, lick mats, chew toys, puzzle feeders, and training. After all that she still wants to play and we try to enforce naps in her crate after every hour she is awake. She doesn’t ever want to settle and cuddle with us, we’re trying to socialize her and take her out for walks in our arms around our apartment but she just gets so squirmy and starts whining. I just don’t feel like we’re bonding and she won’t let us pet her without biting us. Did your sheltie puppy eventually grow out of this and become the loyal loving Velcro dog I thought we were going to get?
