Whatever the reason was behind this decision - its going to be tough for the tech industry as a whole

I was recently laid off from my dev job, and it hasn’t even been a month, but I’m already feeling the pressure as my savings are starting to run low.

I’ve updated and cleaned up my resume on BetterCV, so I’m hoping it’s ATS friendly enough to get past the initial screening, which I know can make a big difference. But honestly, the job search itself has been frustrating. It feels like I’m just sending out CV after CV and hearing absolutely nothing back.

At this point, I’m trying to figure out what else I should be doing beyond applying online. For those who’ve been job hunting in this market, what has actually worked for you?

Does cold messaging recruiters or hiring managers make a real difference, or is there a better approach that’s worth putting time into?

The Trump administration is reportedly considering removing the current 60-day grace period that gives certain H-1B and other employment-based visa holders time to find a new job after their employment ends.

If this moves forward, losing a job could become much more time-sensitive for immigrants who need to find a new sponsor or another lawful status.
