Hi GA pilot's I'm working on a VFR nav log from McClellan Palomar (KCRQ) to St. George RGNL (KSGU) for planning practice. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on how I should enter the airport and avoid busting the wilderness area? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hello everyone, my instructor asked me to plan a route from McClellan Palomar (KCRQ) to Mammoth (KMMH) for nav log planning purposes. I was wondering if you all had any recommendations? I am aware that there is a firefighting and missile testing TFR along the route but this is just for practice and I wouldn't go if those were still in place. I was cautious of taking the west route over the mountains because the service ceiling for the C-172 being 14,000ft. Should I continue planning this route or go all the way around the MOA's / restricted areas to the east? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you.
