Should I switch from NYU Math + CS to Computer + Data Science?

I'm a junior transfer at NYU this fall as a Math + Computer Science (MCS) joint major, but I'm considering switching to the Computer + Data Science (CDS) joint major.

They both are pretty similar for the first half of classes: Calc I–III, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, Intro CS, Data Structures, CSO, and Algorithms.

After that, the main difference is:

**MCS has:** Analysis, Algebra, Numerical Computing, Operating Systems, advanced math electives, and CS electives.

**CDS has:** Probability & Statistics, Data Science I & II, Machine Learning, Causal Inference, Data Management, Responsible Data Science, plus CS/DS electives.

Career-wise I'm interested in anything like SWE, quant, data science/engineering, and ML, so I'm trying to figure out which major gives me the best combination of career flexibility and useful coursework. So far I have a finance and technology summer internship with a couple python projects.

Assuming I can finish both in the same time, for people familiar with NYU or these fields, would you stick with Math + CS or switch to Computer + Data Science, and why?

Internship Applications

Realistically how long can I delay sending out applications to get a real shot at interviews. I'm trying to finalize a project on my resume and don't want applications to close before I can finalize my resume.

Open Calculus III courses

Hey I'm transferring to NYU this fall. I'm taking a Calc 2 course this summer that will finish on September 9th. NYU's class start is September 2 and the late add deadline is September 15. The department won't let me enroll in Calc 3 until I finish Calc 2, do you guys think there will be available spots open on September 10th or do Calc 3 courses usually fill up entirely?

How good is NYU CAS Mathematics and CS joint major

I’m transferring as a junior and only have a technology internship at a lending firm and another finance internship under my belt. What do i do with my next 2 years to maximize my chances at a job in this sector. Not aiming for JS but this area of work interests me.

I'm an incoming transfer into CAS as a mathematics and computer science major. I'm coming from a cal state where I studied finance with a minor in computer science. The picture shows my 4 semester plan I need to graduate on time. It just looks like such a crazy workload and if anybody has taken these classes please let me know if this workload is manageable and if it is, will I even have time for a social life. HELP!!

CAS Spanish In Person Oral Exemption Exam HELP!!

Hey, I recently took the Spanish Placement Exam** which was online and ended up placing high enough to either take the in person oral exemption exam OR to take Span 50 where it also says they do an evaluation in the beginning that might kick you from the course.

I believe I did a lot better on the exam with guessing than I actually know in Spanish.

If I take the Spanish in person oral exemption and bomb it will they possibly place me a lot lower where I have to take multiple Spanish courses? I would be okay just taking Spanish Intermediate II and skipping the first 3. Also, if I take Span 50 and bomb the evaluation, would they place me super low as well?

Please feel free to PM me also if you have taken Span 50 or the Oral exemption exam. PLEASE!!
