What is your favorite chapter in the series?

My favorite is "The Prince's Tale" in The Deathly Hallows. It answers so many questions. It many ways, JKR uses the techniques of mystery novels, and this chapter feels like the part of the mystery novel where the detective explains everything. (It also helps that, for those of us who are old enough to have read the book when it first came out, it confirmed or dispelled a few theories that were floating around. It was fun to have some of my predictions confirmed.)

My second favorite is "The Centaur and the Sneak" from The Order of the Phoenix. I read and reread this chapter so many times. It shows Dumbledore at his most powerful, and that he's always 2-steps ahead of everyone else in the room. He singlehandedly takes down a couple of Aurors, Umbridge, and Fudge. (Although, some might argue that Kingsley wasn't really trying to resist.) And of course, we get Phineas Negellus's iconic line, "You know, Minister, I disagree with Dumbledore on many counts ... but you cannot deny he's got style...."
