Is this normal?

Is this normal?

Im trying to add a usdc erc 20 address to receive crypto from binance. But it says i need to deposit eth first?

Another thing: ledger os updated gradually to 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 when i first got it. Even though 1.6 was already the latest version it didn’t update directly to 1.6. Since im new to this and a bit paranoid im taking all caution before i start moving money here

What can a fake ledger app do?

I know people end up giving away their seed phrase to fake ledger apps all the time. But other than that can it really crack my ledger into sending away funds or just extracting the phrase through malware?

Does it update the firmware to something malicious for the hardware itself? Or can it even pass the genuine check?

I understand people who mistakenly download a fake ledger app but idk why people keep falling for giving away their phrase when they have been told everywhere to exactly not to do that. Even in the unlikely chance i end up downloading a fake one and never actually put my phrase am i still safe?

Paranoid about my new wallet

I ordered my ledger nano s plus from the original ledger site but my hardware wallet was stuck in airport customs for weeks. Given how corrupt my country is idk if it has been tampered with.

The box was intact, no seed phrase given or pin given. I setup everything as usual. Everything looks fine on the app. But still im very very paranoid.

I think i will still reset the device just to see if it provides me a new set of 24 seed and will definitely use a 25th one.

My biggest concern is whether the device itself has a keylogger or some backdoor that will leak the seed. I know i sound very ridiculous but this was stuck in customs for a long time so there is no way for me know whether it was just stuck coz the officers are lazy to work or they were busy tampering the hell out of it. (Realistically speaking its very normal in my country to have stuff get delayed in customs unless u bribe the officials)

What are the pros and cons? I know that pin is more convenient to login but are there any security concerns? Is one more likely to get hacked and i end up getting drained? I can safeguard my hardware wallet and use a unique pin but im still not sure which method to use

Im new to hardware wallets and been digging around for past few weeks. I only plan to send, receive, hold. nothing fancy like smart contracts or apps or any mint.

Is the 25th phrase enough to protect me given i never put it anywhere digital or online? Heard if i use that then the rest of the 24 seed can be given to anyone on earth and my assets on this secret wallet still cant be touched since its just a different wallet on its own?
