Why do i use 3 of these things?
Seasonic Philippines / Helix Technologies Inc. = RMA process is excellent.
So i have a singular main system at home that has been evolving with me through the years.
It started with 2nd hand i7 3770 and Intel B61m board 8gb of DDR3 no GPU. The PSU was a brand new Seasonic s12iii 550w. This was late 2013.
Later on i got a 1070 paired with it. Added a couple more Storage. Added Peripherals.
Switch to an M12II Evo around 2020 when i switched to the AM4 platform with an R5 3600. Basically to have more usb ports for flightsim peripherals.
The S12II found its way to my office PC and its still running until now.
Due to my experience with the S12ii i decided to splurge on the Focus GX-1000 when i got a deal on a 6800xt intending it to the last iteration of the build for the next 5 to 10 years.
Now last week. I went home and the PC wont power on. Trouble shooting and testing shows leakage and constant relay clicking even when the device is powered off.
Unfortunately, the PSU and the Motherboard is surely dead.
Fortunately, Helix Technologies and and representative Jay D. was easy to reach and are very responsive and i immediately was able to get a replacement unit.
I consider the failure a freak accident and don't expect other seasonic PSUs to fail. Both my S12ii and the m12ii has no issues. And because warranty is excellent and dealing with Seasonic Philippines is a very pleasant experience, i dont think i have to look somewhere else for another PSU. Even chat GPT says to stick with the brand.
The good news is, i got a temporary cheap board to test the components in the failed rig. Aside from the board the CPU, RAM, GPU and Even Storage are all working good. I just now need to save up for another equivalent board.
CPU: 5700X3D
RAM: 16x2 DDR4 3600
GPU: MSI Gaming Trio 6800XT
Storage: Crucial 2x NVME 1TB, 1x SATA SSD 1TB, 2x 2TB HDD
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-1000
MOBO: used to be MSI X570 Gaming Edge Wifi, saving for a new board
Talking with AI i'm given a recommendation to switch out my UPS to a Pure Sine Wave UPS or a SERVO AVR and add A Power On Delay Surge Protector. Do i really need all that if i already have an 800w UPS.
