I was wondering something. During a trial, we knew someone found a static knife. I said that he could've used another knife found in a case to perpetrate the kill and still have a knife to show us. Someone then told me that a static weapon and a weapon found in a crate (so in this case, a static knife and a knife found in a crate) count as one. That if the killer use one of the two, it makes the other one disappear. It was an attempt to clear our suspect because if he was the killer he couldn't have a knife to show us because he'd have used one and the other would've disappeared.
Is it true ? Or can the killer use one weapon, discard it, keep the second one (even if it's the same kind, for example, static knife and knife) in the inventory and show it during the trial, like i thought ?
Tell me if it's not understandable enough and I'll try my best to explain further. Turns out our suspect wasn't the killer and I didn't have the opportunity to ask for more explanation, so I'm turning to y'all.

Hey guys, i just want to know if someone use poison on themselves does the empty bottle appear on the corpse ? Or does the shards disappear ? How can you know if it's a self or not ? Thanks for your responses !
