Fall freshman schedule advice

Fall freshman schedule advice

So I've been messing around in the schedule builder trying to see how my courses for this fall might stack up day-to-day, and I wanted to know if this would be an OK schedule for a freshman or if it's too overloaded on some days. I haven't met with my advisor yet, so I still may end up dropping BI 213 and taking it another time, or possibly pushing French down the road.

EDIT: I see the err of my ways, at least now I know schedules at BU aren't meant to be this bad 😭🪦

Freshman BMB Fall Course Suggestions

Hi everyone! I'm coming to BU this fall as a freshman BMB major and I'm trying to get a head-start on what classes I should take before registration opens up in June. So far, where I think I'm at is that for bio-reqs. i can take BI 108 and/or BI 213 and for chem I can do CH 101 or CH 109.

Here's my questions:

  1. It says on the BMB website that BI 213 is recommended, but I got a 5 on AP Bio and it says on the BMB website that it's suggested to retake BI 108 at BU and use my credits on 105/107. Should I take both 108 + 213 (if that's even possible?!) or use my credit and skip 108?
  2. For chem I feel like I did pretty well in AP Chem the class (the exam was a bit of a struggle) so I'm predicting a 4, maybe 3. Should I do the recommended and take CH 109/110 or take CH 101/102/201 path?
  3. Will I have to enroll in a full lecture/discussion/lab combo for most of these courses and if so whats the best way to schedule them?
  4. Kinda with #3 but once the 1st year req. courses are out of the way, what other courses should you take fall semester. I've seen writing, language, and general choice elective floated around but im not sure?

Thanks in advance for any tips, I wasn't fully expecting college class picking to be as involved (i have 13 tabs open rn 😅), especially compared to high school
