3rd Party Controllers

I saw a Wizmaster controller under the Quickshot brand hooked up to a Sega Master System at a Pawn Shop.

It can be seen pictured here:

I did a bit more research and see that particular model that works for the Master System wasn't even in the list of controllers seen here:

https://segaretro.org/QuickShot

The Wizmaster still works though if use the switch in the back to put it on the right mode from what I can tell.

I did see an interesting looking track ball controller too I wonder if could work with Marble Madness called the "Quickshot XVI".

Overall,as some of their controllers seem to work across multiple systems it is hard find a complete list.

Tec Toy Games Play in USA Consoles?

It is confusing as many unoptimized Pal-B games sold in Europe seemingly work with minimal issues.

Seemingly, Pal-M would have less issues with the Video Signal than an optimized Pal-B game would by my understanding.

I can see issues with color or perhaps gamma plugging in a PAL-M console into a USA TV though but a game into a USA console on the hand should have less issues video signal wise it seems to me.

However, the hardware differences between a Tec Toy console compared to a USA console could account for some further issues not inherent in the video signal itself and hard to predict which may result in issues with a particular game.

Ones I am curious about are as follows:

*Rainbow Islands (not the European that has bug in the code resulting in no one able to beat it but the Tectoy version)

*Battletoads: Battlemaniacs (this is partially unfinished with glitches in parts but is playable; the game was cancelled in Europe by Virgin so Tectoy is the only SMS release)

*Game Box: Série Esportes (Tec Toy released difference versions in Greece and Portugal too)

*Fifa International Soccer

*Fire and Ice

Game Box Série Esportes Work on USA Console?

Saw it was released in Brazil in '94 and Portugal and Greece in '96 as Tectoy released some games in these other regions after Sega discontinued production in those markets.

Some overseas games work on USA console and some don't though. Can't find definitive info. on this.

Soccer Games on the Master System?

How would you describe your general impression of these games? I try to avoid asking what is best as I like more nuance than that if possible.

I see the general release pattern of about:

Japan 2

USA 3

PAL 10

Brazil 6

Many were released across multiple regions making the total number of unique soccer games for the Master System at 11 from what I could gather. Could be wrong though.

The games are as follows:

*Great Soccer (Sega Card version — Japan, 1985; PAL, 1985)

*World Soccer (Japan, 1987; Europe/PAL, 1987) / Great Soccer (USA, 1987) / Sports Pad Soccer (Japan, 1988) / Super Futebol (Brazil, 1987)

*World Championship Soccer (USA, 1989; PAL, 1989)

*World Cup Italia ’90 (PAL, 1991) / Super Futebol II (Brazil, 1991)

*Super Kick Off (PAL, 1991; Brazil, 1991)

*Champions of Europe (Europe, 1992)

*Sensible Soccer: European Champions (PAL, 1993)

*Tecmo World Cup ’93 (PAL, 1993)

*Ultimate Soccer (PAL, 1993)

*World Cup USA ’94 (USA, 1994; PAL, 1994)

*FIFA International Soccer (Brazil, 1996)

Which of these offers the most realistic play mechanics? Sensible Soccer my impression is the Amiga was best to play that on? Overall, I think a lot rely on button mashing but Fifa International looks the most visually appealing. Building clubs i don't really get into much at the 8 bit level so intuitive gameplay with real soccer play schematics like formation control and that sort of thing I think would be the biggest draw for me personally.

What do you think?
