In 1993, HP released the OmniBook 800CT, which came with a literal pop‑out mouse that ejected from the side of the laptop like a cassette tape. Imagine pressing a button and your mouse sliding out on a ribbon cable, it looked more like a gadget from a sci‑fi movie than a computer accessory.
