Where to get the best samples

So where do people purchase their samples (of good/interesting whiskies)? EU based. Perhaps where they have pre-packed a range of complementary whiskies, maybe per region, whisky type, whatever? And for a fair price obviously. I can find many places that sell samples but sometimes the prices are wild or the samples are not interesting. Where do you get them?

What was the best tasting you have done?

I’m not thinking about the bottles, but rather the format of the tasting. So I have a quite good whisky and rum collection (and no time to drink it) and have been asked to do a tasting for a group of friends. They are not whisky nerds like me, and instead of doing a tasting where we just talk tasting notes and destilleries etc., I was thinking about making it more “fun”, for lack of a better word.

So what tastings have you tried that stood out, or had some fun elements to it? I’m want to give them a fun experience without being too nerdy and “boring”.

Is this an arrowhead or knife?

Aprox. 5.8 cm / 2.3 inches long. Found near Copenhagen, Denmark.

It definitely seems like a flint rock, but the slight curve makes me think this isn’t an arrowhead but rather a knife or cutting tool. What do you think it is?

Local store found some old bottles and sold them at msrp

Would you believe it; The 12 yo CS from 2024 for €100 and the Local Barley 10 yo 2020 for €200.

So they sent an email last week with a list stating they had found some older bottles they would sell at msrp. All you had to do was request them the fastest when they opened for the sales yesterday - and I managed to snag these two! How lucky am I?!

Skimmel i kælder?

Har et lille kælderrum hvor der er en lille plamage på væggen - er det skimmel? Hvordan finder jeg ud af det? Hvad gør jeg ved det, hvis det er? Er det kommet fordi der er malet på væggen, og vil det ift skimmelvækst være bedre at fjerne al maling på væggen?

Der er udluftning i rummet og luftfugtigheden er fin, og kælderen generelt er relativt nyrenoveret og lugter overhovedet ikke af “kælder”. Derfor er jeg også lidt i tvivl. Er det bare at vaske det ned og så er den ged barberet?

Vi skal bruge rummet som et viktualierum, så vil sikre mig at der er sundt miljø dernede. Der står også en fryser i rummet, hvis det har indflydelse på luftkvaliteten.
