I know, that proof of yellow fever vaccination is necessary when entering The Gambia... I got my shot more than 10 years ago, is this still sufficient or do Gambian authorities insist on more recent vaccinations?

I'll visit the Gambia in january for the very first time. Is Kotu recommandable as a base? I want to enjoy the beach but also some restaurants and pubs and I will do cultural excursions...

How is the beach compared to other areas? Is the area badly affected by the building of the new BB Hotel bridge? What about electricity outages?
