Iranian wanting to travel the US for tourism

I hope someone in the same boat as me can help me here. I want to go back to the US. I also have family in the US whom I have never visited and would love to see. But, Trumps policies have me sitting nervous here. I’m a woman in her late 20’s, my family fleed Iran in the early 90’s when I was just a child so I was never issued a passport of my own. I was on my mom’s passport at the time of fleeing. We got citizenship in France pretty fast and I have a French passport. I have never been back to Iran due to political reasons with a close family member being arrested and… the sht with IRGC etc. anyway.
In 2023, I visited LA with an approved ESTA. I declared that I had never been to Iran (since whatever year that was on the ESTA forum) and also that I have never had an Iranian citizenship/passport. Since then, I’ve come to find out that I am actually an automatic citizen of Iran because of my Iranian father. damn I guess I was stupid.
What should I do here? should I just apply to a new ESTA and declare the same as above? or should I go to the US embassy and apply for a tourist visa instead and declare that I am indeed a citizen of Iran but has never had a passport/been back since 1993?
If anyone is in the same boat as me I hope you can help me.
