My tree fell mostly in my neighbors yard during a bad storm I’m paying for the costs

As I’m researching more I am realizing that they should have split the costs with me at least since it was a healthy tree and an “act of god”. The tree mostly fell in their yard. What would you guys have done? We’re talking a huge tree. We had one quote for 1800 to clean up the tree. They just assumed that since it was my tree my problem. In this situation would you guys do the “neighborly” thing and pay for the whole clean up? Just curious. I did tell her that after we got quotes the tree people stated that technically this is her problem and insurance companies if there was major damage would have to go through her own insurance. But we’re stilling being “nice” and paying for everything. She got weird went inside because she didn’t know they were technically responsible. But now this whole thing is going to cost us 4k because we have to remove the other half of the tree as well that is still standing.

Setting boundaries with other people who have kids the same age

Hi I just need to vent about something. I have a 7 month old baby with spastic hemiplegia cerebral palsy and I just have 2 close friends who had babies around the same time. I asked them to not bring direct attention to their kids milestones at this time while I process this new way of living. ( after they said something to me knowing her diagnosis) We just found out this past month. Is it wrong of me to set that boundary ? I’m not asking them to never talk about it but just don’t say “look she’s walking.” Just until I process this and figure out directly what happened.

Of course I am happy for them but it’s hard right now because you obviously envision a different life for your child and now you have to watch them overcome more obstacles than an able kid.
