Is the plot even in the room anymore?

I just really want to vent about the terrible writing lately, especially episodes 28 to 30. I genuinely liked this season at first, I picked Noah because he was sweet but after Casa, the writing has completely gone off the rails on his route. They try to make drama while also trying to make him look loyal. Why not just commit to it? Write that he had a connection to Alexis and a crush. Write that once MC returned the connection with Alexis paled in comparison or the OG LI is conflicted? Be blunt and honest about it. Allow the characters to actually be complex for once.

I didn’t think Amari was the “snakiest” girl, but whatever. Billy being the snakiest boy makes sense. I picked Trent and Alexis, but apparently that choice meant nothing.

Alexis kissed Billy. Okay… and? Why wasn’t that shown during Movie Night? That’s what movie night is about.

I had to tell Trent AGAIN that I’m not interested, although it seem to stick this time since he was friendly afterwards.

Then Carlo wants a kiss despite me giving him absolutely nothing since we met.

Then there’s the gem scene with Noah. It was built up as something romantic, but half of it was questions about the other Islanders, and the other half were some questions felt like things we’d already discussed. What was the point? It honestly felt more like a gem grab than meaningful relationship development.

And then Carlo asks for a kiss AGAIN the next morning.

KISSING IS NOT PLOT!

Every interaction with an LI seems to end in a random kiss, regardless of whether the relationship has actually been developed. A kiss should be the payoff to romantic tension, not a substitute for it.

Somehow Carlo's says he is “scared of losing me” during Kiss and Diss. Even on his route, that would feel forced and rushed. I haven’t given him the time of day, including during Casa, so why is the game acting like we have some big deep connection? He’s more delusional than Alexis. Why are casa boys just brought in to be obsessed with MC before they ultimately partner with the OG LI's ex partner? Why wasn't Carlo (or any other casa boy) written before being interest in Odessa before he makes out with her?

I really feel for the Trent girlies too. They’re constantly given crumbs only to get slapped in the face AGAIN. I don’t understand what the game is trying to do with his “slow burn” when he’s already confessed about a hundred times and made his feelings loud and clear in front of everyone, only for him to be picked by someone else during coupling up. It's like they want to make sure players keep playing by purposely stretching this out.

This is really starting to bother me about the men

My issue is that the game doesn't seem to acknowledge rejection at all. This isn't just about Trent, but this scene really bothered me.

I've rejected Trent every time, or chosen the least flirty option available. I wish there were an option without the “I think,” because MC isn't unsure at this point. I don't like him at all, I should be able to be blunt at this point in the game.

Then all this drama happens despite MC repeatedly rejecting Trent, and honestly, it's pretty boring storyline to constantly leave and come back to some random drama that blames MC for some guys feelings.

So, despite MC rejecting him one episode ago (or that same morning in-game), Trent contradicts himself. He's essentially saying, “I know you're feeling a connection with someone else and I fully respect that, BUT I'm going to continue pursuing you anyway.” So he immediately explains why his own feelings are more important than MC's. The scene moves directly from acknowledging MC's choice to justifying why that choice to reject him shouldn't actually stop him.

The writers (or the AI writing tool they clearly use) understands that MC rejected Trent. It understands that MC is interested in someone else. Trent literally says he knows this. But instead of allowing that choice to change his dialogue, it just uses the rejection into the dialogue and then carries on with the exact same romantic storyline regardless. So it gives the appearance of player choice without actually allowing that choice to have consequences.

The creepiest thing to me is he looks at MC with an “undeniable look of desire”. What? Why? It turned sexual really quickly and out of no where! And when MC chooses to move away, the narration literally tells us that she's “turning his unspoken invitation down.” I really dislike that wording because it makes MC's rejection sound like resisting rather than rejection.

I completely understand that these scenes need to exist for players who are pursuing Trent. If someone has been flirting with him and he's their main LI, then his persistence can be read as romantic. If a player has slept with him, then his desired look is understandable. But for people like me who have consistently rejected him, his behaviour comes across as a guy who can't take no as a answer and over steps boundaries.

This isn't the first time either and it's not just Trent who does this.
