I lowkey wanna see these two meet.

Rinri and Nyudo are both built up to be the absolute scum of the story, both turned their backs on their own kind, and both even use curse technology for their own ends. It would be interesting to see how they would interact, especially if there's a possibility they strike up an alliance and plan to backstab the other in the process.

Trophic Collapse

So if the merger never happened what's the end goal for some of the sentient natural enemies once they did kill all their humans? For some like the Demons and Giants I think their egos are so big I wouldn't doubt for a second that they would just start killing each other if left to their own devices without something lesser than them to pick on. It's like in an ecosystem with nothing but predators, what are the predators going to eat? Not really serious but just a discussion given the ecological themes of the manga I've seen.

New Reader Question

Hello! I just started the manga and I really like it so far! I think I'm going to take my time reading it but I do have a kinda weird question. Outside of Hallow and Zaybi should I really "get attached" to any of the characters? By that I mean the "representatives" showcased when they were talking about the different worlds and their Natural Enemies since I think some of them have sick designs like Keila and the World Tree Guy. From the chapters I have read this strikes me as an "anyone can die" manga. Now I don't expect any of the enemies to survive the story so I can temper my expectations. Apologies in advance for how stupid this sounds.

Question about a character's powers. Manga Spoilers.

Spoilers up to latest chapter in the manga!!

In chapter 177 Nasu says that he will be turning the girls into dolls for the harem plan. Which begs the question of why hasn't he done it yet if its so easy for him to do? Himi broke out of the dream and had no ill effects. Also why aren't Ushio and Arashiyama considered his "dolls" already even when they fell into his trap and had the gear eyes? Why even bother with the dreaming stuff at all when he could just make them all hypnotized dolls immediately? Is it like a process that needs the dreams to work? I hope we get a proper explanation for how his powers actually work but given how cryptic it all is, I doubt that will happen.

Being Realistic. Manga spoilers

There was a discussion on Discord and it got me thinking. Hypothetically speaking, even if all the girls manage to break out, what could they feasibly do? Two of them don't have special abilities and over half of them aren't even fighters. The next chapter will focus on Himi and I hope will lead to the other girls getting free. But being absolutely realistic here, what can they even contribute to the story at this point? Nasu and Kirara are just way too strong to the point they can't hope to fight them. As much as I love the female cast and believe that they will break out of the hypnosis soon, I can't help but feel like the story is going to sideline them from doing anything important.

Final Villain? Manga Spoilers

Who will be the final villain of the story? Nasu or Kirara? Nasu so far has been far more involved in the story, from manipulating events to kidnapping the girls. But at the same time, Kirara has been built up from the very first chapter as a looming shadow over Gero's life. And is shown as one of the major obstacles Gero must defeat. But the current chapters makes Nasu out to be the immediate threat and if he is dealt with first, what of Kirara?

Something really funny I realized. Manga spoilers up to current chapter

Shonen villains usually have like a group of people they work with, that they have some form of working relationship with. For a few examples, we have Yura and the Hishaku from Kagurabachi, Blackbeard from One Piece has his crew. Even Kenjaku from JJK has the disaster curses he works with. In Marriagetoxin? Even though Nasu is seemingly the big bad villain of the story and the head of his own clan, its very much apparent that nobody actually likes him nor would willingly work for him on his frankly insane harem scheme. He has to literally brainwash people or use puppets to do his work. Plus he is such a self righteous wretched excuse of a person that he has about a dozen people who would want him dead. (The Girls and Gero's group) Its a neat foil to Gero. Gero has made true companions throughout the story and has a sizeable friend group while Nasu only really has himself. Nobody fucks with Nasu and I think that is very funny from like a meta standpoint.

Something that bothers me. Post Chapter 174 spoilers

Nothing big but a worry about the story and narrative that I have. Nasu is certified batshit insane and his ideology is supposed to be seen as fundamentally wrong. But if the girls don't get to do anything and stay in those rooms while the boys handle everything in this arc relating to taking down the poison clan, then Nasu was kinda right in the end. The girls won't get to have their autonomy and just be saved by Gero when everything is already done, defeating the whole theme of the manga. It's probably too soon to be making a post like this, but I want to hear some different opinions on this.

The Plan. Manga spoilers for 174

I'm interested in what Gero's plan of attack will be. It would make the most sense to save the girls first, to get them out of danger, keep Nasu from using them as hostages, as well as boost his forces. At the same time, he might just go after Nasu and Kirara directly to cut the head off the snake while the other guys provide support. Another option is Kinosaki goes to the Human Zoo to free the girls, while the other guys are busy fighting, gets a flashback to his past and maybe Teruaki has a change of heart and helps him out.

Manga Spoilers! Why 6?

So I was thinking about something. Why are there specifically six girls in Gero's "harem" that Nasu planned out? I mean you could argue its to keep the cast from being bloated but I thought of another, far more sinister reason. We know Kirara (granny) is in on the plan in some shape or form. In the chapter where Gero and Kinosaki visit her, she is shown tending to a plant with six grafted flowers. Along the way of the kidnappings, Nasu had also made sure to undermine some of the old five clans he came across such as the Fire Clan and Beast Clan. We also know a few of the girls have unique abilities such as Ushio's water manipulation and Himekawa's ability to sense paintings. Along with Arashiyama's potent beast powers. What I'm getting at is that Nasu and Kirara's master plan is, as gross and creepy as it sounds, might be for Gero to have children with each of the girls who would then become the basis for a new five clans with poison as the central clan. Keeping one line of children for poison to remain at the very top. In essence, a veritable Underworld Dynasty.

Post Chapter 174 Question.

Will the girls get to do anything in this arc? They've done stuff throughout the story but I want to hear some different ideas on if and how they could help in the upcoming chapters and potential final arc.

What the girls will do (Post Chapter 173 Spoilers)

Exactly what the title says. I dont want the girls to stay in those rooms for what very well may be the final arc of the story. Maybe Himi breaks out on her own again, Nasu can't do anything because he would be dealing with Gero, then she breaks the others out in a montage. Possibly with Teruaki's help given he has shown visible discomfort with Nasu's plan. Then they do something to help Gero. Like Ushio and Chinatsu help out the brosquad in the fighting while Arashiyama creates a network between the characters in the final battle. Though idk what the other three could do. I do want a scene where Nasu tries to turn them into puppets again but it just doesnt work.

I'm open to hearing other theories and predictions.

La Squadra in MarriageToxin. Crossover idea.

This is more a fun hypothetical than anything but a friend and I were discussing it a while ago. How would Jojo's Part 5 La Squadra fare in Marriage Toxin's setting? This is assuming all the characters can see Stands.

Chapter 173 and some worries I have

Apologies for doomposting but the girls are all gonna get shafted aren't they? I don't mean to be a pessimist but after what happened with Himi this chapter, my hope for any of them doing anything significant in this arc went down the drain. Now with Gero assembling his other friends and allies to take down his clan, I don't think the girls are going to break out and they will have to wait until the end of the arc to be saved. Which really sucks because for the entire story it was built up how strong willed they all are. I want to trust the process but right now, the story seems to set them up as nothing but damsels in distress needing to be saved in the end.

Please someone change my mind!
