Joker get in there and help this poor girl understand how lovably cute she is!! 😭😭😭

Then again it might be a good thing she not become self-aware of her adorableness. Her humility and modesty is on-brand Kawaiikoto. 🙂‍↕️

It's so sweet she's finally found someone to lean on and doesn't have to be strong all the time. Same goes for him. [Comic by Ryomapppp]

Makoto continues to fluster him with her sincere love for him. 🥰

  • 才色兼備 (saishoku kenbi) - a woman being gifted with both intelligence and beauty AKA Brains and Beauty
  • 文武両道 (bunbu ryoudou) - being accomplished in both the literary and martial arts AKA academically and athletically adept/skilled in both pen and sword (Also Makoto's ideal man according to the art book 🤭)
  • Boy, if those 4 kanji idioms don't describe Makoto perfectly!

Thanks u/plemmons3 for sharing another cute comic. Ryomappp also attached a mini essay to the tweet on what makes Shumako "moe" i.e what inspired this comic

Rough translation courtesy of Google translate:
I like women who seem heavy on the surface but are actually heavy on the inside. What I mean is, they say things like "I can't imagine life without you" but they're independent and can do everything efficiently on their own, so when I say "It seems like you could live on your own" they reply "Huh, you don't get it at all. I can't even do these basic things if you're gone... you'll take responsibility for that won't you?"
- Yes, I'm talking about Shumako

I'm so sorry to see the Calvin and Hobbes subreddit get struck down like this, but at the same time am encouraged by how the mods and fans are handling the situation. I hope someday I can share the actual pages, if you'll allow an image of that. I'll even blur out Calvin and Hobbes in the corner just to be safe! This fun little quiz is the sole reason I kept this particular issue of Reader's Digest.

Hope this was a fun read.

Differences between Farewell Dialogue 3/19: Original | Royal: Romance Route | Royal: Friendship Route [repost]

Sorry if the first post was hard to read. The idea was to have the original farewell, Royal's romance and friendship route run parallel in one image so you could see what changed/improved and what was kept from the original farewell dialogue. I split up the images so hopefully it will be easier to zoom in and read. Let me know guys. Always looking to improve.

But yeah! Lots of improvements all around but I'll miss Makoto reflecting on the person she used to be before she met him and "To tell you the truth, I was fine on my own before I met you but...saying goodbye now is so hard."

She's not the kind of person who gets attached easily. She can't hide how much he means to her! 😭😭😭

Differences between Farewell Dialogue 3/19: Original | Royal: Romance Route | Royal: Friendship Route

From left to right: Original | Royal: Romance Route | Royal: Friendship Route

I always liked the way Makoto attributes her being able to change for the better to him and that she actually expresses sadness towards him leaving. But I have to give it to Royal for improving their farewell dialogue and Makoto proving she has the strength to move forward thanks to him, especially if they're in a relationship.

Honestly the romance route dialogue feels the most complete and natural. It's not just the Shumako bias talking (okay maybe a little)! But seriously, it's clear Makoto's become attached to him and deeply respects and admires him. Every time she calls him an important friend/ally/leader, or here "irreplaceable comrade" you get the feeling she wants to replace that term with something more but holds herself back lest she make things awkward for him.

Even her reason for gifting him her Buchi Calc feels like it's lacking something in the friendship route. Or rather the focus is more on them rejecting Marukiland and taking back their futures, and that's why she can go on to achieve her police commish dream. (She says something closer to "we fought back [to return to our present reality] together so I'd like you to have it" in Japanese.)

Also +1 to Royal for not needing the -kun honorific! I found it slightly odd that they're in a relationship and Makoto told the Thieves to address her as "Makoto", no need for "senpai" or "-san", yet she addresses Ren with whom she's become very close, by his first name plus -kun...?

Bonus in the lower right hand corner. I managed to find all three reactions to his responses! Thank you nice youtube people! Naturally "Sounds like an excuse to visit." draws the best reaction from her. ;D

She gifts him her Buchimaru calculator to be his emotional support calculator while they're apart 🥹

This dialogue change in Royal further drives my headcanon that this basic calculator has been with her since her elementary school days and she's essentially gifting him a piece of her childhood to remember her by.

Persona 5 GraffArt featuring Makoto's Awakening and Joker looking on in awe

source

The artstyle reminds me of some of the end credits from Monogatari series. Looking back, P5 had some nice slice of life moments (though having more wouldn't hurt) and some unforgettable scenes (pretty sure both Joker and Makoto's Awakening will be forever etched into my memory).

I'll always look back fondly on these characters and Persona 5 as my formal introduction to the Persona series and its catchy music. Honestly, whatever P6 brings, I doubt it will connect as strongly as the Phantom Thieves did for me. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

When the devs include Shumako's oddball son so the pairing is subtle but still obvious ;D

They spend Strikers/Scramble feeding Yusuke and supervising the sibling squabble whenever Futaba pokes Inari. 😅

Basically, he fell for her first but she fell for him harder [Comic by Ryomapppp]

source "主まこ(Shumako)

Gotta love these two Twice Shy dorks XD

Understandable on Ren's part since he's gotta make the first move.

Makoto got fooled into thinking Ren's the confident one and never gets nervous, and she's the only one getting flustered and embarrassed. But little does she know!

Thanks u/plemmons3 for sharing another cute comic. Love the contrast between shy and chatty expressions. If there's any mistakes in translation, let me know and I'll fix it in the comments.
