In the third panel Ren switches to katakana which if I'm interpreting correctly means he's talking robotically/all stilted because Makoto made him blush. I hope I got that across with "It. Is. Nothing."

I'm assuming it's Joker yelling "One more time! Hee ho!" since he started the hee ho'ing. Like, "Okay guys one more time so Queen doesn't feel left out!"
I love their dynamic when he can give her what she's too embarrassed to ask for and playfully tease her at the same time. 🤭

Soooo, not too sure what the "nori" is supposed to be in the fourth panel. I know nori is seaweed but she's definitely not talking about seaweed. I'm guessing it's supposed to be "norinori" which means to get excited or amped up about something.

Piggybacking off u/Full_Metal18's Shumako lunch date, it all began when Ren invited her out to try monjayaki, expanding their horizons together (as well as their stomachs). Fast forward to Scramble/Strikers and it seems Makoto has gained confidence in making/ordering it herself since the monjayaki date, and didn't overstuff either of them this time.

You guys probably know what okonomiyaki is from anime/manga/etc. (Ranma 1/2 anyone?). You may have heard of it described like Japanese pizza/savory pancakes. Monjayaki is fairly similar to okonomiyaki, except as far as I can tell they don't put in noodles and you eat it straight from the grill. So as you can see from the YT short how Makoto could get carried away with grilling a variety of monja and Ren taking up his designated role of "trashcan bf". 😅

It makes sense narrative-wise because Sojiro has known Ren for more than a year now and the lad has earned his trust. He's practically his surrogate son now. For Makoto, he noted how well-mannered and respectful she was when she introduced herself, on top of being a student council president, which means responsible, attentive, and capable. Seeing how hard Makoto fought to prove his innocence the day he turned himself in, and how happy they were together on Valentine's Day cinched it. He knew Futaba would be in good hands, judging by his smile as he sees them off.

• Obtains the perfect sized camper with the right accommodations
• Assuring Makoto she'll do fine driving that huge camper when she feels daunted by it
• Reparking said camper so his adopted son can finish packing
• Ensuring the Thieves have fresh food when they set off and entrusting his adopted son to feed them delicious, nutritious curry knowing he'll do just as he was taught
• Gets the camper so Ren can call everyone to meet up and depart

Sojiro being the best Coffee Dad you could ask for.

Ren and Makoto are arguably the two most responsible members of the Thieves so it makes sense Sojiro would check with them about preparations and the like.

I totally subscribe to u/Full_Metal18's headcanon that Queen was ready to throw down even take down Alice herself when she heard Jail Monarch Slut #1 wanted to be his 'queen' 😤

Out all the Bonds icons only 2 feature Joker partnering with another Phantom Thief: His Queen and his best buddy. Thank you P5S devs! 😎

The dark blue is soothing to the eyes and the icon art is fun to look at. It's also satisfying to see all skills maxed out. Were that Atlus made stickers out of them.

As u/Full_Metal18 mentioned, "Probably the menu you'll spend most of your time browsing in this game" which means Joker and Queen spent a lot of time strategizing and optimizing. 😁

Queen will always have Joker's back and vice versa.

And if you take a closer look at all the icons, Joker and Queen are the only two with a "partners who have each other's backs" vibe. Even Joker and Skull's icon is just a pair of crossed arms.

According to Kawakami the stone is a ruby (cut into a heart shape). Not just any ruby! "Pigeon blood the most expensive kind" - the highest quality money can buy.

So you could say he gave it to her because it matches the eyes of a certain someone... A reminder of when he gets down with his bad side in the Metaverse. 😝

At this point Ren's crushing on her hard while Makoto's still oblivious to her feelings. She acts so knightly in this one hehe

I'm all for a teasing/playful confident Makoto but at this point, they're at the beginning of her confidant in Shinjuku where she's out of her element. If anything it'd be Ren who steps up proving his reliability once again. He did pull her away from a host club recruiter who nearly dragged her into a seedy shop after all. Maybe this is NG+ Makoto

Best Big Sis cameo ever.

Also the way Sae addresses both Ren and Makoto at the end feels very future in-law-y. 🤭

"Don't overdo it, okay?" sounds like something he'd tell Makoto and Makoto would caution Sae with the same caring tone, only for Big Sis to pick up that a certain someone has been influencing her little sis. Eh, he seems alright.

Going from being so heart-poundingly nervous that she's unable to look at his face to wanting to be together more. I just like how he never pushes her or makes her uncomfortable in any way. His calm presence calms her down. 🤗

Observe the glorious height difference where she can lean on his shoulder and rest her head into the crook of his neck, and he can wrap his arm around her shoulder and nuzzle his cheek into her hair.

Keep it subtle and making it a wholesome celebratory group moment. That's how you move the story along and weave in the continuation of a strong but subtle romance. :P

Very cute and in character~ The text in Ren's speech bubble is the SFX for mumbling nonstop (you might be familiar with this SFX if you watched MHA. Deku does this a lot when analyzing.) Makoto, naturally is the Joker Whisperer and concisely translates for the confused listener.

I can also see their friends coming to them for advice and Ren suggests something dramatic while Makoto balances it out with something more practical.

I can also, also see Ren and Makoto using these notes and leave little messages for each other at each other's desk or locker. 🤭
