I don't remember which fanfic this was from but it was sort of a throw-away joke where Harry's OWL was initially a failing grade, but retroactively changed to a passing one because his prediction that the examiner should have died the previous Tuesday turned out to have aligned with a canceled trip the examiner was going to take but didn't, and the train the examiner would have been on had crashed, killing everyone on board.
