I have a friend who teaches at one of the most expensive private high-schools in Toronto. This is what they've told me about the students there, many of whom will go on to become leaders in business and politics, like their parents.

They rely on AI for absolutely everything and have no capacity for critical or even basic thinking. They'll even use AI when asked for their opinion on things, like pieces of music. They've gone beyond hyper-individualism to non-dividualism, or something. The teachers have almost completely given up on trying to curtail the use of AI.

Most express reactionary views, and recently drove a gay teacher to tears. This was a guy who tried his best to be one of the "cool" teachers by being a bit more lenient with student behaviour. Another teacher who has a reputation of being more of a hard-ass had to come in and dish out some discipline. Lesson learned - Hitler youth only respect authoritarianism.

About 60% of my friend's students are moon-landing deniers, and about 30% are Holocaust deniers. They also, unsurprisingly, don't give a shit about the Palestinian genocide.

I wonder how this compares with working class students.
